Why preserve our U.S. Constitution?
We must insist our elected legislators defend these fundamental goals:
Bring Back Jobs & Prosperity Ever wonder why the New Jersey flag feature both the symbol of Liberty and the symbol of Prosperity? Our Founders understood that Prosperity follows Liberty as surely as wet streets follow rain. Conversely, bankruptcies, foreclosures, joblessness, homelessness, and depression always follow Government’s heavy-handed, micro-management of our lives, lands, and businesses. The solution is as basic as the three R’s: Repeal, Reduce and Rollback the regulatory burdens from off the backs of the private sector. The Legislature must focus on stream-lining regulations and the levels of bureaucracy to permit a competitive market and business-friendly environment for existing and new businesses. Government has never been the solution for jobs - entrepreneurs are the answer. Economic growth and job creation occurs in the private sector. In order for the state's and nation’s economy to improve, it must confine its legislative activities to protecting our God-given “unalienable Rights” and otherwise staying off of our backs and out of our pockets.
Slash—Not Cap Property Taxes New Jersey’s property taxes are the highest in the nation. Capping property tax increases to 2.5 percent annually is not only insufficient relief for property owners, but locks in the present inequity. We need a rollback. To do so, we must shrink state government and reduce state spending to only those items authorized by the NJ and U.S. Constitutions. This is the only way taxes can be slashed to sustainable levels.
Enforce Immigration Laws Illegal immigration annually costs New Jersey $1.8 billion for education of illegals, an additional $200 million for their healthcare, and $50 million for the cost of incarcerating illegals in our state and local prisons. Not to mention the personal heartache endured by honest citizens who are the victims of crimes committed. We must enforce our immigration and citizenship laws, support our border patrol and port authorities as we would any other frontline soldiers, and secure our borders and ports. We must encourage our state and local law enforcement officers to receive the training to enforce federal immigration laws through Section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. We cannot be secure from drug smugglers, human traffickers, and terrorists without secure borders.
Exercising our 9th & 10th Amendment Rights as a State Legislators in our state are required to take an oath of office to “support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of New Jersey”. We must urge our Legislators to exercise our 9th and 10th Amendment rights. We must send such oppressive federal legislation as the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”(Obamacare), Cap-and-Trade, and the Food Modernization Act back to Washington as they are all far beyond the authority delegated through the U.S. Constitution. State Legislators have both the right and the responsibility to nullify unconstitutional federal legislation. Remember it was We the People of the States who created the federal government—not the federal government which created the States,.
Prevent an Article V Constitutional Convention New Jersey has a standing call for an Article V Constitutional Convention. Article V of the U.S. Constitution provides that upon the Resolutions of 34 states, the U.S. Constitution will be subjected to a “Con-Con”. America is just a few states away from 34 now. There is an imminent danger that a few more State Legislatures will be seduced into passing “Con Con” Resolutions. Most state legislators do not understand the danger of a “Con-Con” or what an Article V Constitutional Convention is. Legislation must be introduced to rescind NJ’s standing “Con-Con” calls. |
